Gilly Miskelly

Gilly Miskelly qualified with distinction as an integrative counsellor at Greenwich University in 1999 and has been working in the substance use field for 26 years. She is also a qualified fitness instructor.

Gilly has extensive experience in providing and managing services including harm minimisation, outreach, residential rehabilitation, mental health, supported housing and counselling. She has helped many people with drink and drug problems to make significant changes in their personal and professional lives.

Gilly says: “The Problems people experience with alcohol and drugs will be different for each person, but ultimately have the same effect whatever your walk of life. I have seen people’s careers come crashing down and their relationships deteriorate as well as their mental and physical health. My expertise lies in understanding the issues relating to substance use and the difficulties that this presents when it becomes out of control. Trust and confidentiality are key to establishing a successful counselling relationship where real choices can be explored and put in to action”.

Gilly’s breadth of experience also covers areas such as depression and anxiety, working with abuse, group facilitation and working with friends and families also affected by another’s substance use.

She is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
