The problems associated with drugs, alcohol and other addictive behaviours may build up over a number of years or cause immediate devastation to a person’s life.

After establishing a successful life for me and my family, a medical problem meant I was unable to continue in my chosen career. I began to feel depressed and this was soon followed by the use of alcohol and other substances. Eventually control was lost and everything that was of value to me disappeared.

I understand that for a person to fully engage with the process of change, confidentiality and a knowledgeable practitioner with the flexibility to respond to the client’s needs are a must. I have had the privilege of witnessing many people make similar transformational changes to their lives as I did.

Experience and skills:

The extensive experience I have gained from working on a national telephone helpline service, as a therapist at one of the country’s foremost private residential rehabs and more recently in the criminal justice system, highlights to me that anyone, regardless of their status, can encounter and overcome the destructive effect alcohol or other substances can have on their lives.
